One thing that I remember while being interviewed at Diamond PR is the moment Jody and Kara asked me what my Spirit Animal was. Right away my mind screamed YESSS! because finally I was compatible with a company not only for my work ethic (of course 😉) but on a spiritual level too. They wanted to have a deeper understanding of my inner being, and I was a totally down with that. I’m definitely one to think that a spirit animal (along with your zodiac sign) defines or expresses our personality better than probably words ever could. When you think of dolphins, kangaroos, hippos… you can already imagine what these animals’ personalities are more or less like, right?
And if you’re curious what animals represent us DPR girls best, wonder no more:
VERONICA (ME!) – A WOLF / BLACK BIRD:
I am part wolf because wolves like to travel in a pack (they are undeniably loyal) but if they need to make it on their own they have the strength and intelligence to do so. Wolves have a deep connection with their instincts, and an appetite for freedom.
I am part blackbird because not only is my favorite Beatles song ‘Blackbird’, this animal is mysterious, metaphorically situated in proximity to the higher energies of the universe (something I always strive for), moves with determination and focus, sings to heal and inform ( I love to sing my little heart out!), and even though they have wings, they like to spend much of their time on walking on mother earth which symbolizes their ability to remain grounded.
MICHELLE GEORGE – DOLPHIN:
Michelle identifies with dolphins because they’re smart, social, intelligent, strong and energetic. Plus they love the water, which she also adores.
SOPHIE – LIONESS:
JENNIFER – PUMA:
SASHA – EAGLE:
Sasha is an eagle because they’re very observant and take everything in before making a move. They’re free to fly/explore/travel. And because she’s a Boston College Eagle. Go EAGLES!
MICHELLE S. – PANDA:
Michelle is a panda! Why? because not only are they adorable and cuddly, but at the end of the day they are still bears and are powerful, intelligent and curious animals.
JULIA – CAT:
Because they’re playful but still sophisticated, and Julia definitely has both those qualities.
LUISANA – ELEPHANT:
LISA – GOLDEN RETRIEVER
Because they’re loyal, smart and resourceful. While they are friendly and approachable, mess with anyone they love and they’ll bite you!
JODY – RHINO:
Rhino’s can be seen with the herd, but are just as comfortable on their own as they are very self assured. For the most part, they just hang out and don’t really both anyone, but if you mess with them or threaten them at all, they can be dangerous and aggressive. They have a horn and know how to use it to maximum affect. Also, they have a very thick skin….pretty hearty beast. Overall Rhinos are gentle and reasonable. What many don’t know is that while rhinos are know to display aggressive behavior for the most part it is a passive creature, happiest to just roam wide open spaces in contemplative solitude….people just don’t let it. Yep….Jody is definitely a Rhino!!
TONI – GIRAFFE:
Toni identifies with a giraffe because they are graceful, intuitive, and clever – her best qualities of course!
SYDNEY – OWL:
Why an owl? Because the owl sees in the dark: As a spirit animal, the owl guides you to see beyond the veil of deception and illusion; it helps see what’s kept hidden. It also symbolizes the ability to cut through illusions and see the real meaning of someone’s action or state of mind. When the owl is one of your power animals, you have a strong intuition and can access information and wisdom that’s usually hidden to most. The spirit of this animal encourages you to look beyond deceiving appearances into the true reality of a situation or a person’s motives. The owl is a strong spirit guide for discernment and making decision based solid foundations. Call on the owl totem when you have to assess a situation or are going through confusing times.
KARA – MONKEY:
Kara says monkeys are fun & friendly, but if you piss them off they’ll fling their S%&* at you – and think it’s funny to do so…. a sort of twisted sense of humor if you will. 😉 But aside from that…. monkeys are intelligent, inventive and playful creatures. They are also social creatures, living and traveling together in groups, and protective of each other, especially their young.
ALLISON R- GIRAFFE:
Because she has been nicknamed “giraffe” by her friends as she has a longer neck than most. And because they’re her favorite animal… He dream is to stay at the giraffe manor in South Africa.
KARI – DOLPHIN:
Kari says dolphin because they’re playful and energetic nature, easy going and personable, explorers seeking a new adventure each day, and they value friendship and the community.
So which DPR girl do you identify with? 😉
