‘Tis The Season To Give A Gift

‘Tis The Season To Give A Gift
Michelle Saco

The holidays are often a season for giving. We always give gifts to our friends and family, but why not also give to those in need this year. Below are some charities you can join to give a gift that gives back this Christmas.

Toys For Tots
This organization collects new, unwrapped toys during the holiday months (October, November, & December) each year to distribute to less fortunate children in the community during Christmas. This campaign is available in various states in the U.S. If you can’t find the time to purchase a toy, you can also donate directly on their website. Visit toysfortots.org to find the closest location to drop off your toy.

Adopt a Family
Neighbors 4 Neighbors is a nationally recognized nonprofit that connects those in need with those who can help. This program gives you the chance to give the gift of love to a family in need this holiday season. You’ll even have the opportunity to meet them and make a connection that will have a life long effect. For more information or to adopt a family this holiday visit, neighbors4neighbors.org.

Angel Tree
The angel tree is a unique program that provides gifts of new clothing and toys to thousands of children (and adults) who otherwise might not have anything for Christmas. There are several charities that offer this program including, Salvation Army and Prison Fellowship, as well as Be A Santa To A Senior which Diamond Public Relations is taking part in this holiday season.

Holidays Cards for Hospitalized Kids
It’s never easy to be hospitalized and fight a health condition at any time of the year, but to have to spend the holidays in a hospital can be a little more difficult, especially for children. Sometimes all it takes a cards to put a smile on their faces. To learn more on how to get involved and send a card visit, cardsforhospitalizedkids.com.
