A couple weeks ago, I went with my fellow Diamond PR team member Alex, to visit our clothing-optional resort client, Hedonism II in Negril, Jamaica.
While every trip to this resort has been different so far, one thing has always remained the same: I always leave feeling a little more comfortable in my own skin.
While they may not be for everyone, I can certainly vouch for clothing-optional vacation experiences (or “nacations” as they’re sometimes called) as being a pretty liberating experience overall. There’s something very freeing about not worrying about what you look like in a bathing suit or feeling like you didn’t work out or diet enough, and simply enjoying a vacation for what it is — your time to be yourself in a beautiful place.
At Hedonism II, you’ll see guests of all shapes and sizes embracing their natural figures and not caring about how they look in the mirror or how they compare to others and to me, that’s something that’s so refreshing, and so unique to clothing-optional experiences.
Aside from it being a confidence booster, there’s also many health benefits for stripping down. Research has shown that being naked in the sun can also be great for your skin! It boosts your Vitamin D intake and can improve your circulation and even detoxify the skin.
At Hedonism II, you can choose to be on the Nude Side or the Prude Side, which means you can either be on the side of the resort where everyone is completely naked all the time, or on the side where you can be naked or fully clothed. It all depends on your comfort level.
This setup works really well for first time guests who aren’t sure what to expect or how they’d feel about going sans-clothing around strangers.
My advice for those who may be curious about these types of vacations is to just go without any preconceived notions. Try not to worry about what others will think and enjoy a beautiful resort on a beautiful island, in your most natural state.
When she’s not chasing around her english bulldog or capturing instagrammable moments in her neighborhood of downtown Miami, you can might catch this island girl at the beach with her toes in the sand and a spicy cocktail in hand.
