Many tend to forget just how wonderful Canada really is. The destination wasn’t on my bucket list until earlier this year when I stopped to write down my 2017 travel goals and almost overlooked our Northern neighbor. I then realized, wait… Canada is overflowing with tourism attractions, and not to mention some of this generation’s GREATEST musicians. Also, our most beloved Diamond PR member, Lisa Schwartz, was born there and that’s reason enough to visit!
Thanks to Alex for the topic inspiration at lunch today; you reminded me that I have yet to fulfill my travel plans to this gorgeous country. 😉
But how can a country that is so cold, be so hot? I can tell you why:
First and for most, the reason why I must visit Canada and soon is because, well Justin Bieber. I could give you a thousand reasons why my love for this multi-talented singer, songwriter, and dancer, will never cease, but this Canadian-born heartthrob is not the topic of my blog post. But I will say, don’t forget to check out his latest single “2U,” in collaboration with David Guetta. He took the words right out of my mouth when he sang “let’s take both of our souls and intertwine.”
S/o to Michelle, who got me this personalized J.Biebs mouse pad for Secret Santa last year.
#2 & 3 THE WEEKND & DRAKE
I’ll start with The Weeknd. There are no words to describe this alternative R&B music genius. Born and raised in Canada, this talented lyricists and vocalist has become one of the industry’s top artists. The boy has soul, and sure knows how to make a girl swoon! Canada has much to brag about when it comes to this guy.
My last musical reason why Canada is the hottest country at the moment, would be the true greatness of Aubrey Drake Graham. The best rapper in the game, this multi-Grammy award-winning musician climbed to the top rather quickly. But ladies get in line; Alex calls dibs on this one!
The secret is out! Exceptional musical talent lies on Canadian soil.
#4 NATURAL WONDERS
Now that I’ve gotten the three most important reasons on why Canada beckons me, I can now mention the destination’s natural wonders. From the country’s mountains, lakes, forests, arctic and desert landscape, few countries boast the number and range of breathtaking natural attractions that Canada does. Must visit locations: the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, Niagara Falls, Banff National Park, Moraine Lake, and more. It’s also a great spot to lay back and admire Mother Nature’s celestial display, known as the Northern Lights.
The time for Americans to travel to Canada is now, as the exchange rate makes it really affordable for US residents to travel there. (right now $1 USD is equivalent to $1.30 CAD). So this is your chance! Don’t hesitate to live it up while you’re in The Great White North!
Poutine is a Canadian delicacy, originating from Quebec. Melty, meaty, and cheesy, poutine combines some of my favorite foods together — a mix of fries, gravy, and cheese curds all in one bowl. I can’t wait to try this!
