If you’re anything like me, food means more than nourishment. You’re the person friends come to when they need a restaurant suggestion, the one who spends her last $10 on the ramen burger at the Brooklyn Heights Smorgasburg because #foodporn, and certainly the friend who enjoys a good farmers market.

I digress.

When it comes to planning a vacation, what I’ll eat when I’m there is unquestionably a top priority. Here are some of my favorite dishes and a few DPR clients that are located in the same city:

1. Cheesy Gnocchi with Truffle Oil – Eaten in Florence, Italy at Osteria Santo Spirito
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy during my junior semester in college. I ate all the carbs with #noragrets. My favorite meal, though, was hands down this cheesy truffle gnocchi dish. This thing was piping hot when it came out. I’m pretty sure my mouth suffered severe burns. Worth it.

2.  Short Rib Gyozas – Eaten in Miami, Florida at Pubbelly
The Short Rib Gyozas are not to be missed when venturing down to the ol’ 305. When you’ve had your share of Cuban and Seafood, Pubbelly offers the non-traditional gastropub-style fare. These little flavor blasts are surely one of the most indulgent and tasty things I’ve ever eaten. This place serves tapas style dishes so come prepared for small bites with big flavor.

3. Key Lime Pie – Eaten in Key Largo Florida at The Beach Cafe at Morada Bay
There are few things I enjoy more than a weekend in the Florida Keys. There are even fewer things I enjoy more than desserts. Key Lime Pie is a beautiful combination of the two. The Key Lime Pie at Morada Bay, while obviously delicious, is more for me about the experience of soaking up the beautiful sunset while a guitarist sings a Jimmy Buffett tune in the background and feeling an indescribable euphoria about the whole experience. Or maybe it’s a sugar high. Guess you’ll have to find out for yourself…

Those three dishes right there make for a dream meal. Love the “pie with a view” scenic setting.
