MEMORY MONDAY

MEMORY MONDAY
Michelle George

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… that’s if you like company holiday parties (shout out to Jody for organizing an Argentinian polo party), hot spiked cider, mall hopping, mistletoe, perfect sweater weather.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season, however, is reconnecting with family. Whether it’s dropping the most epic Christmas dinner clapback on your Aunt Susan (non-millennials, please refer to #Thanksgivingclapback) or pulling out the old photo albums, the holidays are a time to look back at the year… or in this case, 25-30 years.

At this year’s Diamond PR Thanksgiving potluck, someone pulled out their baby photo, which led to everyone else sharing their baby photos as well. Think you know the DPR crew inside and out? Test your skills by guessing who’s who.

Guess then scroll down for the answers. Happy guessing!

  1. What does this sports loving cutie miss most about being a kid? Spending two-month summer vacations in Colombia with her family.
  2. Besides a PR rock star, this smiley UCF alumna used to want to be a dolphin trainer… blame it on the fact that she spent most of her weekends at Miami Seaquarium.
  3. This curly brunette’s first pet was her class hamster, Hammy, which she got to keep at the end of 1st grade. Almost 15 years later, this UF grad found out that Hammy had actually been replaced by one of her best friends when she escaped during a weekend trip home. Turns out she ended up with look-alike Hammy No. 2.
  4. This cafecito expert remembers coming to Miami on vacation where this photo was taken. Her older brother lived in the 305 so she would visit every summer, eager to eat salt & vinegar chips because they didn’t have them in Argentina.
  5. This sweet girl’s favorite childhood memory was having a white Christmas and learning how to ski in Colorado at the age of four.
  6. This chic Miami-girl wanted to be an archeologist when she was growing up.
  7. What does this smiley UM fan miss most about being a kid? Not second-guessing everything. When she was young, she’d ask questions she wanted answers to and didn’t doubt herself… Now she says she could use some of the spunk from her baby self.
  8. This Jamaican girl’s favorite childhood memory is sitting in her dad’s lap while he drove around in his pickup truck. (Totally unsafe / illegal these days! lol)
  9. How would this Brazilian native’s parents describe him? Super curious and innocently mischievous. His family had a restaurant and he used to sneak into the kitchen and try to make his special sandwiches with crazy ingredients. Sometimes he would come out and ask diners if they wanted to trade their plates for a sandwich he just made.
  10. This horseback riding pro remembers her first trip when she visited her grandparents in Missouri. She loved running through their house, seeing the horses and cows and helping her grandpa pick strawberries from his garden.
  11. This sweet strawberry blonde got her first pet when she lived in England – it was a grey and white rabbit from her brother’s kindergarten class that needed a good home… his name was Thumper.
  12. This cutie’s parents took her to Disney World and she remembers being scared of EVERY ride. Ironic because now she’s fearless and will try anything once… including going to Hedo.
  13. Besides being a PR rock star, this Seattle native wanted (and still wants) to be an Oscar-winning actress. Anyone who knows her knows she’s in love with Hollywood… and Justin Bieber.
  14. This fashionista had a few pets growing up. Her most noteworthy pet memory was when she brought her outdoor cats inside and dressed them up in doll clothes and made up a song and dance with the cats.
  15. This Brooklyn girl didn’t always love dogs (or dingos) – she used to have a cat named Cleo when she was four that she thought was a boy.
  16. This Spanish IT-whiz always wanted a dog growing up and finally became a dog dad to a cutie rottie-mix, Zinc.
  17. This pineapple-loving coffee-fanatic misses climbing trees barefoot and preforming Spice Girls concerts in her backyard for her whole neighborhood.
  18. What did this beauty want to be when she grew up? According to this picture, Miss Universe. She used to play “Miss Universe” and this photo is from one of her at-home pageants when she was six. Otherwise, she wanted to be a dolphin trainer (oh to be young and naive) and then a news reporter.
  19. This DPR veteran wanted to be a pop star, or as a consolation, a pop star’s back-up dancer.
  20. This free spirit’s first pet was a fish. One time she and her mom were cleaning the fish tank and he accidentally fell into the garbage disposal. Her mom had to dig her hand in and catch him but he survived…and lived for 4 years!
  21. What does this FSU grad miss most about being a kid/teenager? Custom designing and coding her MySpace page and AIM away messages. She says, “We were all baby coders…pretty impressive actually. Kids have social media so easy these days.”
