Family Fit or Just for Fun

This past weekend marked two firsts for me – my first time hosting a press visit at our client property The Resort at Longboat Key Club in Sarasota and my first time hosting one with three full families.

Not having any kids of my own I wasn’t quite sure how this was going to unfold but knowing that the resort is designed to suit every member of the family from golf for dad, to tennis lessons and Kids Kamp for the kids, to the spa and Mind and Motion studio for mom – we were going to keep them busy.

My Canadian Homecoming

Last week Diamond PR and our client Aruba Marriott hosted a media luncheon for twelve top travel and lifestyle media in Toronto. I was excited to go back and see how the city had changed since I was last there about 15 (gulp) years ago for a summer camp trip. Being from Montreal, it was especially nice when the customs agent at Pearson International saw my Canadian passport and told me “Welcome home.”

To cruise or not to cruise

That was the question I asked myself as I prepared to embark on a 7 day, 6 night New Years cruise to the Caribbean with 13 members of my family.

The last time I was on a cruise was five years ago and I really enjoyed it but since then I have travelled a lot more, stayed at some exceptionally beautiful resorts and explored islands for three days or more at a time. I wasn’t sure how my last cruise experience would stack up now that I’ve got a few more stamps in my passport.

Press Trip Lesson #1 – Expect the Unexpected

As I prepared to embark on my fourth press trip this year to the beautiful St. Kitts Marriott Resort for a “Guys Getaway” themed adventure, I was excited thinking about the rainforest hike, ATV tour and rainforest ziplining adventures we were about to experience.
